Hello Everybody,

We had a nice 12 hour flight to Incheon, Korea which is the little city next to Seoul where the airport is located. We flew in the new A380 which was a nice experience for airplane lovers like me!  Asiana was a cultural experience in itself.  The flight attendants bowed to each of us and provided us with slippers to wear.  This welcoming hospitality only increased our excitement about going to Korea.

Before the flight we used the KAL lounge to get some breakfast, sushi and red wine..

I always wondered how fast 853 passengers can board the plane, and there were like 3 bridges to the airport where passengers board the plane depending on the zone they were seated. In this picture you can see the second floor passengers (Sarah and I) need to take the stairs before they board the plane!.

We had the option to eat western and Korean food so we chose one of each. I think the western one was better! And I (Sarah) loved the Korean one (it included pickled veggies and some weird fish soup)!  The airport in Korea was extremely organized (in contrast to the Mexico City airport from last week) and despite people not knowing much English we were able to navigate our way well.  I (Sarah) had a moment that stood out, I entered this foreign world where I have no idea what anyone is saying, but I took a moment to smile at this cute little Korean girl and she smiled back.  Some languages are universal.

When we arrived at the hotel we were exhausted so we just went to 7Eleven to eat some cheap noodles and Soju to help us sleep.  We tried the one chocolate made in Korea and lets just say we now know why Korea only manufactures one type of chocolate.  We are trying to learn Korean and have practiced saying thank you about 100 times and still don’t think we are saying it right.

Our bed was definitely Sarah sized and felt like sleeping on the floor, but being tired helped us still sleep decently.  And a neat feature to the room was that the wood floor was heated. But the lighting system was extremely confusing and illogical along with the design of the shower.

In the morning we had the included breakfast buffet and lets just say that they did not cater to Americans despite being an airport hotel (which we liked).   It included all sorts of weird things including pickled peppers, kimchi and some rice mushy thing.

After breakfast we take the bullet train to Busan!!!
